Manufacturer's Description

PROVEN PERFORMANCE ON THE ROAD TO GREATNESS

The Pegasus has long been the workhorse that dares to race the thoroughbreds. Celebrating 30 years since its debut, the Nike Air Pegasus+ 30 Men's Running Shoe continues the legendary tradition with an updated breathable upper and super-responsive cushioning

Support and Ventilation

Ultralight engineered mesh on the upper adds support and ventilation while reducing weight. Unlike the Nike Air Pegasus+ 29, this version features strategically placed no-sew overlays throughout to offer even more support and create a seamless, ultra-comfortable interior.

Responsive Cushioning

A Nike Zoom unit in the heel delivers low-profile, responsive cushioning, and premium Cushlon foam provides a soft and springy ride.

Impact Absorption

Sidewall cuts on the midsole absorb impact for softer landings and smoother transitions on your run.

Review

The Nike Air Pegasus 30+ is arguably Nike's most popular and well known neutral shoe. Now in it's 30th edition it's not hard to see why it has maintained it's presence at the top of running.

As a middle distance runner; focused on collecting up the miles at a fast pace, I have been looking for a shoe that is both light weight and comfortable, the Pegasus was it.

The Pegasus 30 was excellent for both my long runs on different terrains and short ones on the road, it provided ample cushioning and naturally pushed my stride towards the forefoot.

In terms of structure, starting from the bottom, the shoe is well padded from the heel to the forefoot and whilst there is more support towards the back of the shoe there is plenty of padding on the toe. The bottom of the shoe includes a divider which naturally pushes the foot from the middle part of the shoe towards the toe meaning it's easy to feel the spring in these shoes.

Whilst this shoe is lightweight, the upper is rigid and sturdy making it more reliable in the mud and ensuring that the foot doesn't slip inside the shoe when going up and down hill.

Whilst I enjoyed some success with this shoe when running the short distances, I would probably advise wearing a more minimal shoe for short distance road racing. However this shoe is perfect for any distance training regardless of season or surface.

In terms of appearance this shoe is bright and bold; with a number luminous colours displayed on the heel and the laces.

As a shoe that is sharp on the eye with a feel that is almost as eye catching, you can be almost assured that the Pegasus 30 will not be last of its collection.
